Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much beef do I get?

This will fluctuate depending on the size of your steer, and whether you get a WHOLE or a HALF beef. In previous years, a WHOLE beef has averaged about 650lbs. of hanging weight.  You receive around 60% to 70% of the hanging weight as cut and wrapped meat which means you would get 60% to 70% of the 650 lbs hanging weight to your freezer.  That is about 390 to 455 lbs of meat from a WHOLE beef.

Q: How much does it cost?

WHOLE: $3.99/lb. = approx. $2,593.50

HALF: $4.09/lb. = approx. $1,329.25

Q: Where & how is my beef cut & wrapped?

KW Beef has all steers processed at Christiaens Meats in Valier, Montana. Typically 20% - 25% will be steaks, 30% - 40% will be ground beef, and the remainder in roasts, stew meat and/or other miscellaneous cuts. Christiaens Meats will contact you for cut & wrap instructions when your beef is ready.

Q: When do I get my beef?

You should expect to receive your beef between late August and early September.
